In April of 2015 Gross McCleaf Gallery hung my work alongside that of Bettina Nelson, a remarkable painter and collage-maker.
Here are examples of the work I included.
I'm so glad that I was able to show with Bettina. We both work in narrative ambiguities and bright colors. I believe we both think about smaller moments in time in order to convey an emotion or story.
Often, Bettina presents her work as two pages of a book, laid out to be read.
Mary Putman's work was in the back room of the gallery. Her work reminded me of returning to the town you grew up in after living abroad for twenty years.
In all, I'm so happy to have been a part of this exhibition.
